Mount Vernon- Peter Carver Nickerson, 40, of Mount Vernon, died in Winthrop on Sunday, June 20, 1999.
He was born in Bidderford on Dec. 14, 1958, the son of Almo F. Nickerson and Catherine (Bean) Nickerson.
He attended Kittery schools and was in the Army. He had been employes as a truck driver with Currier Trucking for several years and, most recently, with NorthCenter Foodservice of Augusta.
Peter enjoyed hunting, boating and skiing and was a member of National Rifle Association. In the early 1970's, he traveled to Iceland on a Rotary grant. While there, he enjoyed the people and had a chance to ski race.
Peter especially enjoyed the time he spent at camp in Moosehead with his family and his beloved dog Schultz, and going to concerts with his daughters.
He is survived by his parents, of Carrabassett Valley; his wife, Wendy (Kelley) Nickerson, of Mount Vernon; three daughters, Karin Nickerson, Katie Nickerson and Kayla Nickerson, all of Mount Vernon.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Roberts Funeral Home, 26 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Winthrop, with the Rev. Sylvio Levesque officiating. Burial will be in Hallowell Cemetery, Hallowell.
Donations in his memory may be made to a scholarship fund in his name for his daughters to Beth Oliver, Capital Area Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 2626, Augusta, Maine, 04338.

Dad I love you with all my heart! I miss you more and more everyday that goes by. Time has gone by so fast since you have passed, it still feels like it was yesterday. I would give anything in this world to have you back in my life, if I could change things or turn back time you wouldn't be gone today and I wish it was me not you that had to leave this world. I love you dad.
Life has gotten so hard since you have been gone, are family has fallen apart and will never be put back together again. Mom's new boyfriend has ruined Katie, Kayla and my lives. Moms not the same anymore and he's ruining her life to.
I love you dad and there isn't a minute that goes by that I do not think of you. I love you and I'd give the world to have you back in my life. Everyone says we will move on and things will get better for us, but, they wont dad. Not without you. I cant wait until the day comes that I will be with you again.
